BROOKS – The Rev. Dr. Francis Arthur Shaw Jr., known as Frank, 67, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, Feb. 20, 2011, in Bangor. He was born Dec. 7, 1943, in Biddeford, the son of Francis and Phyllis (Morse) Shaw Sr.
He was a pastor for several years and a Bible school educator for many years at Faith School of Theology. He had a great passion for studying and learning several languages.
He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Carol Shaw of Brooks; his two sons, the Rev. Matt Shaw and his wife, Kim, of Knox and Mark Shaw and his wife, Stacey, of Corinth; his six grandchildren, Krystal, Kyle, Tyler, Caleb, Alison and Emilee; his mother, Phyllis Shaw of Biddeford; his two sisters, Christine Murdock of California and Pat Vlakahas and her husband, Harry, of Arizona; and his two brothers, Robert Shaw and his wife, Gladys, of Dedham and Gary Shaw and his wife, Pat, of Old Orchard Beach. He was predeceased by his father in 2001; and a son, Michael Shaw, in 1998.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 23, at Brooks Pentecostal Church, Monroe Highway, Brooks, where a celebration of his life will take place 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 24, with the Rev. Dr. Jeffrey Bell officiating. A committal service will be held in the spring.
