BUCKSPORT – Bertha Nathalie “Nat” Snow, 87, passed peacefully Feb. 22, 2011, returning to the waiting arms of her beloved husband, Guy Snow. She was born March 1, 1923, in Kingfield, daughter of Harland and Zilpha M. (Taylor) Morrell.
Nat graduated from Kingfield High School in 1942 and Bliss College, Lewiston. After college she worked as a stenographer at Hiram Ricker and Sons, and later became a manager at Treworgy’s. Nat married her adoring Guy, June 29, 1944, and later moved to Bucksport, which quickly became home. Nat and Guy spent many happy years taking weekend trips to their camp, “Snowflake,” in Greenville.
Nat had a gift of making everyone she met feel special.
She gave easily of herself with an open heart, gentle smile and lively wit, yet she was always surprised when others wanted to do for her. Nat was an active member of Carrabassett Rebekah Lodge No. 123, and member and past matron of Felicity Chapter No. 195 Order of the Eastern Star, and grand representative. Holidays and special events were moments to be treasured and preserved through her impressive collection of mementos. While she will be dearly missed here on earth, there are many loved ones awaiting her arrival.
She is survived by her loving son, Sheridan Snow of Bangor; two loving brothers, Raynard Morrell of North Anson and Burchell Morrell and wife, Virginia, of Farmington; numerous nieces, nephews, and many dear friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Guy O. Snow; two brothers, Milford and Graden; and three sisters, Bea, Pauline and Wynona.
Friends may call 4-6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 24, at Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 28 Elm St., Bucksport, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 25, with the Rev. Linda A.
