BANGOR – Arlene E. Bracy, 103, died Feb. 22, 2011, at a Bangor health care center. She was born Sept. 5, 1907, in Columbia Falls, daughter of Everett and Clara (Higgins) Albee.
Arlene grew up in Columbia Falls and had fond memories of the few years she lived in Boston. She worked in the housekeeping department of James Taylor Osteopathic Hospital and at Eastern Maine Medical Center. During her retirement she was a personal care attendant in private homes well into her 80s.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Ralph W. Morrill, in 1949; her second husband, Orris Bracy, in 1970; a brother, Omar Albee; and a sister, Lucy Tyler. Surviving are four children, Elissa Durando and her husband, Harry, of Bangor, Judith Burton and her husband, Harold, of Glenburn, Jeanine Lavigne and her husband, Laurent, of Bangor and Ellen Gay and her husband, Ed, of Chattanooga, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Jennifer Mitchell and her husband, Gregory, of Kenduskeag, Kathlyn Grover of Levant, Kory Franzen, and Tiffany Holt and her husband, JR, all of Chattanooga, Tenn.; four great-grandchildren, Karen and Nolan, Nicholas and Lindsay; two great-great-grandchildren, Zach and Lane; nieces, Clara Donavon of Jonesport and Letitia Tibbetts of Machias; and a nephew, Harold Tyler Jr. of Milbridge. Arlene’s family gratefully thanks the staff of Westgate Manor Res Care for the excellent care, patience and support that they provided.
