BLAINE – Jacqueline B. Garrison, 67, passed away Thursday, Feb. 24, 2011, surrounded by her loving family at her home, after a courageous 17-year battle with cancer. Jackie was born Aug. 24, 1943, in Mars Hill, the daughter of Russell and Annie (Jamieson) Townsend.
Jackie was a loving wife, mom, grammie and a partner on the family farm. She loved spending time at camp, baking bread, sewing, traveling and making mittens for the grandkids. Those special times with her family were what she enjoyed the most. She also enjoyed spending time with the residents of Aroostook Health Center.
She is survived by her husband, Wayne of Blaine, who she married April 17, 1962; a daughter and son-in-law, Andrea and Brent Hammond of Turner; a son and daughter-in-law, Gregg and Heidi Garrison; a daughter and son-in-law, Tracey and Edward Wright, all of Blaine; grandchildren, Olivia, Spencer, Chandler and Sydney Garrison, and Isabelle and Brandon Wright; a brother and his wife, Merlin and Donna Townsend; a sister-in-law and her husband, Gail and Robert Lunn; a sister-in-law, Karen Garrison; an aunt, Lois McCrea; an uncle, Fred Kelley; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Jackie’s family gives a special thanks to Ruth, Kim and Lori from Hospice of Aroostook for the wonderful care they gave their mom, also to friends and family for the many visits, calls, cards and food.
Funeral services will be conducted 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 27, at Free Baptist Church, Bridgewater, with Pastor Mark Lunn and Pastor Lawrence Beals officiating. Relatives and friends may call 1 p.m. until the time of service at the church. A spring interment will be at Tapley Cemetery, Blaine.
