CLIFTON and MILFORD – Isabelle L. Wentworth, 92, passed away Feb. 24, 2011, at the Maine Veterans Home.

She was born April 11, 1918, in Bangor, daughter of Michael and Annie (Cawley) Mogan.

Isabelle was proud of her Irish heritage and of growing up on Hancock Street. She married Ralph E. Wentworth in 1938, and they lived happily together in Clifton until his death in 1983. For a woman who never learned to drive, she was constantly on the move. After 1983 she began traveling with her sister, Julia, as well as with her best friend, Marie Harris. She loved to take day trips to Chemo Pond. She would go with a stranger if it meant she could get to a bingo hall. She was known as “quite a dancer” at the Eagles Club.

She loved to sing and dance and laugh.

Isabelle is survived by her brother, Thomas Mogan of Bangor; and three daughters, Ann Spencer of Milford, Mary and husband, Larry Miller, of Sherylls Ford, N.C., and Barbara and husband, Ron Butturini, of Las Vegas. She was blessed with 10 grandchildren, Shirley Brissette, James, Edward and Donald Spencer Jr., Ann Marie Wheeler, Robert Miller and Lynne Cooper, and Brian, Timothy and Todd Butturini; 24 great-grandchildren, Audrey Slade, Christopher Brissette, Justine and J. Spencer, Daniel and Nicky Wheeler, Gretchen and Madison Spencer, Stephanie Merrill, Sierra, Robert and Victoria Spencer, Michael, Patrick and Maggie Cooper, Morgan, Shawn and Macy Miller, Crysta, Matt and Stephanie Butturini, Jessica and Alec Butturini, and Giavanna Butturini; one very special great-great-granddaughter, Alyssa Slade; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by brothers, James, Edward, Raymond, Francis, Harold and Jack; and sisters, Mary, Madeline, Catherine and Julia. A sincere thank-you to the Maine Veterans Home and its staff for the love and care shown to her during her time there. A special thank-you to granddaughter-in-law, Leslie Spencer, who watched over her daily, along with her daughter, Ann.
