PRESQUE ISLE – Charlotte Shapiro, 78, passed away Feb. 28, 2011, at a Bangor hospital.
She was born Jan. 23, 1933, in Boston, daughter of Saul and Bessie (Orenberg) Matulsky.
Charlotte graduated from Jeremiah E. Burke High School, Boston, Class of 1950.
Charlotte married Meredith Shapiro, in 1956. She was a devoted wife and loving mother. Charlotte helped with the family business, Malmark’s Clothing Store, Presque Isle, for many years. She volunteered with many local organizations.
Charlotte is survived by her husband of nearly 55 years, Meredith Shapiro; two daughters, Kerri Logue of Michigan and Stacey Shapiro of Connecticut; three grandchildren, Adam, Jessica and Stephanie Logue; and one brother, Seymour Matulsky. She was predeceased by her parents; and a brother, Norman Matulsky.
The funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, March 4, at Jewish Funeral Chapel, 118 Center St., Bangor, with the Rabbi Steven Schwarzman officiating. Interment will be at Beth Abraham Cemetery, Bangor.
