CARMEL – Joseph Lionel Raymond, 78, was born Oct. 26, 1932, and passed March 6, 2011, at a Bangor hospital. He was the son of Annie Raymond House and was raised by his grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Peter Raymond.
Joe, an avid sports fan, loved to spend time with his family especially the grandchildren. He will be missed dearly by both of his dear friends, Mike Ellis and Shirley Barker, both of Bangor. He retired from Maine Distributors, as a delivery driver and Uni-Ship, as a courier hauling medical supplies through all weather. In his work travels he would bring smiles to the women by bringing them chocolates and laughs.
He leaves behind his sons, Isaac Raymond and wife, Jessica, of Carmel and Jason Raymond and wife, Meg, of Chicago; and stepson, Doug Howes of Exeter. In addition to his boys are his 10 grandchildren, MaKayla, Alexis, Meredith, Kaitlyn, Patrick, Isabella, Amelia, Noah, Serina and Hannah, who will deeply miss all of his spoiling.
A memorial service will be held 5 p.m. Thursday, March 10, at Carmel Union Congregational Church with Pastor Barbara Chodkowski officiating.
