MILLINOCKET – Maria Noella Michaud, 84, passed away Sunday, March 6, 2011, at a Millinocket health care facility. She was born Aug. 4, 1926, in St. Hilaire, New Brunswick, the daughter of Rene and Laure (Marquis) Rioux.
Noella worked for Great Northern Paper Co. at The Guest House for a number of years as a housekeeper and food server. She was involved for many years with Katahdin Area Support Group and was a member of Daughters of Isabella Little Flower Circle.
Noella is survived by two daughters, Lisa DeMunck and Edward Stone of Rochester, N.Y., and Linda O’Kane and Robert Corsa of Greenville; four grandchildren, Sarah DeMunck of Rochester, N.Y., Jennifer Parent and her husband, Shawn, Patrick O’Kane and Keri York of Millinocket and Angela Gordon and her husband, Timothy, of Zephyrhills, Fla.; a great-granddaughter, Courtney Parent; a brother, Jay Rioux and Betty Cushman of Stewart, Fla.; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Lionel Michaud; and a brother, Clem Rioux.
Friends are invited to visit with the family 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Lamson Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket, where the officers and directors of Daughters of Isabella Little Flower Circle will conduct a Rosary service 7:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday, March 11, at St. Martin of Tours of Christ the Divine Mercy Parish, 19 Colby St., Millinocket, with the Rev. Joel Cyr, pastor, presider. Spring interment will be at Millinocket Cemetery.
