EAST MILLINOCKET – Alma M. Pratt, 99, wife of the late Avon J. Pratt, died Thursday, March 10, 2011, at a Lincoln health care facility. She was born Dec. 25, 1911, in East Millinocket, the daughter of Bernard H. and Katherine (Lawler) MacDonald.

She grew up in East Millinocket, and was a graduate of Schenck High School. During the late 1960s, Alma enjoyed being at the University of Maine, Orono, as housemother at Phi Gamma Delta fraternity and later housemother at Corbett Hall. She was a dog lover and greatly enjoyed her many companion dogs over the years. Alma will be remembered as a devoted wife and mother.

She is survived by her son, Charles A. Pratt of East Millinocket; two brothers, Halton B. MacDonald of Bangor and Clayton J. MacDonald and his wife, Pat, of Millinocket; a sister, Elaine K. Dollar of California; and five nephews, George T. MacDonald, Kevin MacDonald, Jeffery MacDonald, Steven R. Dollar and David MacDonald. In addition to her parents and husband, Alma was predeceased by a brother, Clarence L. MacDonald; and her stepmother, Maude V. Kinney.

Friends are invited to visit with the family 6-8 p.m. Sunday, March 13, at Lamson Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket, where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, March 14, with Deacon Dan Watson officiating.
