KISSIMMEE, Fla. – Michael S. Woodward, 44, went back home to heaven Thursday, March 10, 2011, as the result of an automobile accident. He was born in Sun Valley, Calif.
Michael went to school in Stacyville and graduated in 1985 from Katahdin High School, Sherman. He moved to Kissimmee, Fla., in 2000 from Winter Springs, Fla. He was an event planner for the tourism industry, was Christian by faith, served in the Air National Guard in 1985 and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving from 1985 to 1987. He was a kind and helpful man whose motto was to do something good for someone every day.
Michael is survived by his beloved wife, Wendy of Kissimmee, Fla.; sons, Joel Woodward and Joey Woodward, both of Effort, Pa., David Clay and Sam Clay, both of Kissimmee, Fla.; brother, John Woodward of Oviedo, Fla.; sisters, Diana Caron of Auburn and Catherine Fischer of Stetson; mother, Cheri Sawyer of Greenbush; father, Thomas Woodward of Sherman Mills; and one grandchild, Anthony Issiah. Michael has joined his grandmother, Marjorie Woodward in heaven.
The family received friends 6-8 p.m. Sunday, March 13, at Conrad & Thompson Funeral Home, where a memorial celebration of life with military honors by Osceola County Veterans Council was celebrated 2 p.m. Monday, March 14.
