BOWDOIN, Maine — The Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Department charged John Zenonos of Bowdoin with kidnapping and four domestic violence crimes after he allegedly beat a young woman Saturday morning at his Litchfield Road home in Bowdoin.
Chief Deputy Brett Strout said Cpl. Aaron Skolfield was dispatched to a home on Litchfield Road at noon Saturday to investigate a domestic disturbance call. A 21-year-old female reported fleeing to a neighbor’s house following the incident, according to Strout, who said the woman had been involved in an altercation with Zenonos, 26, of Litchfield Road.
Strout said Zenonos beat the female victim to the point that she nearly lost consciousness. Zenonos allegedly choked her and removed her clothing, according to Strout.
The victim fled while clad only in her underwear to reach the neighbor’s house.
