OLD TOWN – Constance M. (Olson) Mcnamara, 72, died unexpectedly March 21, 2011, at a Bangor hospital. She was born April 23, 1938, in Old Town, daughter of the late Seldon B. and Mildred (Gadd) Olson.
Connie had a wonderful sense of humor, and also enjoyed collecting all types of owls and red hats. She also enjoyed and supported various types of wildlife organizations, Humane Society, National Wildlife Federation and Wolf Society. She loved cats and provided a home to many neglected cats throughout the years. Connie also supported Disabled American Veterans. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, needlework and donated quilts and afghans to anyone in need. Constance also started a Brownie troop, and was a member of the Girl Scouts.
She is survived by her husband of 35 years, George H. McNamara; her children, Frank F. Goodin, Kaye Woodward and husband, Loren, of Bradford, Wendy Cornell of Hudson, Benjamin Goodin and wife, Tammy, of Utah, Monique Hanson and husband, Joe, of Hulls Cove, Peter J. Goodin and wife, Denise, of Eddington and Angela McNamara and Chris of Manchester; 17 grandkids, five great-grandkids, several nieces; one nephew; and their dog, Charlie. In addition to her parents, Connie was predeceased by two brothers, Philip Olson and Benjamin Olson.
Burial services will be held in May in the Olson family plot in Brownville Junction. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Humane Society or National Wildlife Federation.
