ASHLAND, Mass., and DOVER-FOXCROFT – Lloyd A. Skiffington, 86, passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2011, at the Veterans Affairs hospital in Bedford, Mass. Born in Guilford, he was son of the late Mabel (Jackson) Hanson and Harry Hanson.
He was the husband of Celia (Dumois) Skiffington of Ashland, Mass. Raised in Dover-Foxcroft, he was a veteran of the Army, serving during World War II as a chaplain’s assistant in the European Campaign. He was an English professor at Northeastern University, Boston, for 36 years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Yvonne Johnson and her husband, Jeffrey, of Franklin, Mass.; and a granddaughter, Olivia Johnson. He was predeceased by a brother, Sidney W. Skiffington.
