EAST MILLINOCKET – Irene Doiron, 80, died March 25, 2011, with her family at her side at Millinocket Regional Hospital. Irene was born June 8, 1930, in Rumford, daughter of Frank and Julie (Cormier) Cormier.

After graduating from Stephen’s High School, she was employed at Oxford Paper Co., Rumford. She married Emile Doiron of Barryville, New Brunswick, and they made a wonderful life together in East Millinocket. She chose to be a stay-at-home mom to raise her family. She found many ways to enhance the young lives of her children. She enjoyed playing cards, deep-sea fishing and traveling. She was a devout catholic and attended St. Peter’s Catholic Church, always maintaining a strong faith.

Surviving are three sons, Robert and wife, Laurel, of Medway, Gerald and wife, Wendy, of Levant and Mark of Nashville, Tenn.; two daughters, Joyce and husband, Tim Beaulieu, of Millinocket and Debra and husband, Randi of Joplin, Mo.; her grandchildren, Chris, Aurel, Robert, Robbie, Adam and Lucas; and great-granddaughter, Hannah. Irene also leaves her brother, Ivan Cormier of Mexico, Maine; two sisters, Sister Aulida Cormier, N.D.S.C., of Moncton, New Brunswick, and Viola Goguen and husband, Roland, of East Millinocket; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Irene was predeceased by her husband, Emile; her parents; and her sister, Rita Madore.

In accordance with Irene’s wishes, there will be no visiting hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday, March 31, at Christ the Divine Mercy Parish, St. Peter’s Catholic Church, East Millinocket, with the Rev. Joel Cyr, pastor, presider.
