CHERRYFIELD and NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. – Jean Conway, 80, passed away March 17, 2011. She was born Nov. 29, 1930, in Arlington, Ky., daughter of Ruth Garber and T.C. Maxey.

Jean taught school in Arkansas, Tennessee, California and Florida. During the 1980s she was an administrative staff person for U.S. Sen. Alan Cranston. Upon retiring Jean and her husband operated Ricker House Bed and Breakfast, Cherryfield, for more than 20 years.

Jean is survived by her husband, Bill; sons, Tom of Cherryfield and Hugh and spouse of Maryland; daughters, Mary of Cherryfield and Julia of Prospect Harbor; grandchildren, Elaine and Jacob of Maryland, Lauren of Boston, Katherine of Detroit and Helen of Prospect Harbor; sisters, Jeanette Hampton and Lynn Spraggs, their spouses and families; and brother-in-law, Louis Hull and family.

A memorial service to celebrate Jean’s life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to The Lord’s Light House Ministry, P.O. Box 6015, Sun City Center, FL 33571-6015.
