PATTEN and PRESQUE ISLE – Our mother and grandmother, Rose Jones, passed away Monday, April 4, 2011, at the age of 88. She was the wife of the late Kenneth Jones and daughter of George and Eveline (Theriault) Corriveau. She was born March 19, 1923, at Portage Lake, lived in Stockholm until age 16 and then moved to Patten where she chose to reside for most of her remaining years.

Throughout life, Mom/Gram worked hard in her home and in the plywood mills where she was employed from the age of 16 until retirement. She greatly valued her French heritage, carried with her lessons and stories from the Depression and war years, and unselfishly devoted herself and her resources to family. She openly praised our strengths while overlooking our shortcomings.

As a testimony to her belief in Christ, she leaves three worn Bibles.

Mom/Gram is survived by her children, Lana Jones of Patten; Dana and Elsie Jones and their family, Luke and Heather Jones, and Gwen Jones of Houlton; David and Brenda Jones and their family, Amy, Emerson, Matthew and Meghan Jones of Bangor; brother and sister-in-law, John and Ida Corriveau of Presque Isle; a brother, Leon Corriveau of Limestone; many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband of 58 years; four brothers, Joseph, Rosaire, Abel and Albert; and two sisters, Mary and Georgianna. She also leaves her Leisure Village cribbage partners with whom she spent many enjoyable hours and a special friend, Roberta Holland of Presque Isle.

A family service will be held to honor our mother and grandmother.
