BANGOR, Maine — Jamie Morrill, chief operating officer at The Acadia Hospital in Bangor, has been named acting director of the psychiatric facility after the departure of former Acadia president and CEO David Proffitt, whose resignation was accepted on April 4.

A spokeswoman for Eastern Maine Healthcare Systems, the parent corporation of The Acadia Hospital, said Friday that Morrill will head up the 100-bed hospital until an interim director is identified. Longer term, a national search is under way for a permanent president and CEO.
