JACKMAN – Linda M. Daigle, 57, died Tuesday morning, April 5, 2011, surrounded by her family at her sister’s home in Addison, from her battle with cancer. Linda was born April 29, 1953, in East Machias, daughter of the late George Albee Sr. and Irene Willey of Milbridge and her stepfather, Lewis Kidder Jr.
Linda graduated Washington Academy, East Machias. She worked as a cook for many years; some of her happier times was when she was cooking for her family and friends. She was an employee at Bishops, Jackman, until her illness, and being a very caring and giving person, she had many special friends. Some of her favorite pastimes were going to yard sales and reading.
Linda is survived by her loving soul mate of 13 years, Walter Allen Sr.; her children, Timothy Daigle, Melissa Daigle Newton and Yvonne Lucas; her grandchildren, Tanner, Jackman, Dawson, Cooper, Jeremiah, Brody, Destiny and a new baby due in September;
and Walter’s son, Walter Allen Jr. and wife, Laura, and son, Landry. She also is survived by her sisters, Janice Albee, Brenda Albee, Janet Andrews, Pamela Geel and Vivian Therrien; her brothers, Thomas Albee, George Albee Jr., Lewis Kidder III, Harry Kidder, Stephen and Timothy Albee; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, with a special fondness for her great-nephew, “Tatter” Taylor Bickford; and special friends, Jon Preble, Danielle Hale, Janet Stonick and Val Rich-Shelly. The family expresses their gratitude and special thanks to CancerCare of Maine, Brewer, and Community Health and Counseling Service Hospice special nurses for their wonderful compassion and assistance.
There will be a celebration of her life noon-5 p.m. April 30 at Vivian Therrien’s, 20 Merchants Lane, Addison. For those who wish to remember Linda in a special way may make gifts to CancerCare of Maine, Brewer, or hospice in Machias.
