JONESPORT – Alice E. MacAuley “Aunt,” 86, went to be with the Lord April 9, 2011. She was born Sept. 29, 1924, in Jonesport, daughter of Dallas and Vivian (Faulkingham) Alley.
She worked for many years in local factories, but her happiest times were those spent caring and cooking for her family. She also enjoyed decorating for, and spending time together, during the holidays.
Alice is survived by her devoted family: a daughter, Sharon MacAuley and her fiance, Gary Alley; a brother, Velton “Woody” Alley Sr. and his wife, Gerrie; niece, Shannon Todd; nephew, Buzz Alley and his wife, Julia; niece, Debra Dean and her husband, Dennis, and their children, Denny, Heather and Dana; and nephew, Dallas Alley. Her pride and joy were her great-nieces, “Aunt’s Babies,” Katie-Lynn Todd, Ashley Todd and Lydia Alley. She will also be remembered and missed by her cousins and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Bill; and four brothers. Special thanks are expressed on behalf of the family to the wonderful staff at Marshall Healthcare Facility, Machias, for the excellent care and compassion that was provided.
Family and friends may visit 2-9 p.m. Monday, April 11, at her home, 181 Main St., Jonesport. Respecting her wishes, a private family service and interment will be held with Pastor George Woodward officiating. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the resident activity fund at Marshall Healthcare Facility, 16 Beal St., Machias, ME 04654. Arrangements are in care of McClure Family Funeral Services, Machias and Lubec.
