WASHBURN – Gayla E. Bell, 90, passed away Sunday, April 10, 2011, at a Mars Hill nursing home. She was born in Sherman, the daughter of Luther and Lula (Sherman) Glidden.
Gayla spent her life as a dedicated wife and mother, who kept her family at the center of her life. She was also a talented seamstress and enjoyed making various crafts. She was married to her husband, Herman Bell, for 67 years until he passed away in 2007.
Gayla is survived by her children and their spouses, Robert of Washburn, Richard and Rhonda of Wade, Brent and Penny of Folsom, Calif., Roberta and Ronald Everett of Fort Fairfield, Donna McIntyre and her companion, Wayne Seavey, of Bangor and Cynthia and Peter Eldredge of Westfield. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, Herman, Gayla was predeceased by two brothers and 10 sisters.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 13, at Lancaster Morgan Funeral Home, 11 Clover St., Caribou, with the Rev. Michael Shaw officiating. Friends may call 1 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
