SURRY – Donald Leverett Clark, 83, a lifelong resident of Surry, died April 10, 2011, in Blue Hill. He was born Nov. 7, 1927, in Blue Hill, the son of Paul and Ethel Clark.
Don attended schools in Blue Hill and graduated from George Stevens Academy. He served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and belonged to Blue Hill Rifle Club, where he was a noted marksman. Don was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved the Boston Celtics and dancing with his life partner, Freda Daugherty, who predeceased him. He loved to play pool with Rick and all his friends in his new “pool room.” He will be sorely missed, especially on Labor Day when he hosted a picnic each year with all his family and friends at his seaside home on Newbury Neck.
Don is survived by his cousin, Francis Bogan of Bangor, whom he thought the world of, and her children, Paula and Richard; Freda’s children, Rick Daugherty and wife, Denise, and granddaughter, Jaime, and Jack Daugherty and his wife, Ginny, and their children, Sean, Bryan and Kelly; and his current partner and longtime friend, Ginger Williams.
Calling hours will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, April 14, at Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth, where a funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, April 15.
