LIMESTONE – Lawrence E. Bourgoine Sr., 80, husband of Gretchen (Thompson) Bourgoine, died April 15, 2011, at a Caribou health care facility. He was born Aug. 10, 1930, in Limestone, the son of Louis and Helen (Doucette) Bourgoine Sr.
He was a self-employed farmer in the Limestone and Caribou area for several years until his retirement. Lawrence was a member of Parish of the Precious Blood, St. Louis Catholic Church.
He is survived by his children, Lawrence E. Bourgoine Jr. and his wife, Siepi, of Florida, Rodney Bourgoine and his wife, Linda, of Washburn, David Bourgoine and his fiancee, Beatrice Charette, of Caribou, Wayne Bourgoine and his wife, Rena, of Caribou, Sally Sandstrom and her husband, Steve, of New Sweden and Randy Bourgoine and his wife, Nichole, of Caribou; one brother, Louis Bourgoine Jr. of Woodland; two sisters, Barb Greenier of Caribou and Lorraine Michaud of Cross Lake; his grandchildren, Julie, Roger, Billie Jo, Jesse Addie and Lyddie; many great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Gregory Bourgoine; and two sisters, Cynthia Page and Blanch Evans.
Friends may call 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Monday at Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 19, at Parish of the Precious Blood St. Louis Catholic Church, with the Very Rev. Jean-Paul Labrie, pastor, officiating in a Mass of Christian burial. Spring interment will take place at St. Louis Cemetery.
