EAST MILLINOCKET and MEDWAY – Mary Ethel Giberson, 92, died April 22, 2011, at her daughter’s home. She was born Oct. 17, 1918, in Sherman Station, the daughter of Charles and Ella (Rush) Kelley.
Mary was a graduate of St. Joseph’s Academy, Portland, and St. Elizabeth’s Hospital School of Nursing, Brighton, Mass. She was a communicant of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, East Millinocket. She was a member of Daughters of Isabella, St. Ann’s Circle for more than 50 years. She also belonged to Legion of Mary.
Mary is survived by three sons, Robert and wife, Monica, of Texas, Charles and wife, Karen, of East Millinocket and John and wife, Carolyn, of Steep Falls; three daughters, Ella and husband, Alfred Theriault, of East Millinocket, Barbara and husband, Ronald Waite, of Millinocket and Margaret and husband, Dale Fiske, of Medway; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren with a 12th soon expected; one great-great-grandchild; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mary was predeceased by her husband, George; a daughter, Theresa; brothers, Charles Kelley, Joseph Kelley, James Kelley and George Kelley; and a daughter-in-law, Francis Giberson. Mary will be remembered as a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. The family thanks the hospice workers of Community Health and Counseling, and especially Donna and Devin.
Friends are invited to visit with the family 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, May 1, at Lamson Funeral Home, 17 Western Ave., East Millinocket, where the officers and members of Daughters of Isabella, St. Ann’s Circle will say the Rosary 3 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10 a.m. Monday, May 2, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church of Christ the Divine Mercy Parish, 58 Cedar St., East Millinocket, with the Rev.
