HAMLIN – James L. Corbin, 80, died April 22, 2011, at a Caribou hospital after a brief illness. He was born June 1, 1930, in Hamlin, the son of Frank and Isabelle (Deschaine) Corbin.

James worked as a heavy equipment operator for Lane Construction for 40 years. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and was a member of Levasseur-Farrell American Legion, Post No. 49, Van Buren, and Lister-Knowlton Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9389, Caribou. He was also a member of Union Local No. 4, International Union of Operating Engineers.

James is survived by his wife of 55 years, Florence (Boudreau) Corbin of Hamlin; three daughters, Linda Spicer and her companion, Greg Crossman, of Brewer, Grace Corbin and her partner, Deborah Taylor, of Epping, N.H., and Nancy Leclerc and husband, Hamel, of Grand Falls, New Brunswick; two brothers, Norman Corbin of Hamlin and Roland Corbin of Dover-Foxcroft; three sisters, Elverine Vigue of Fairfield, Antoinette Harris and husband, Robert, of Hope Mill, N.C., and Carol Pine and husband, Charles, of Presque Isle; and three grandchildren, Justin, Jessica and Jason.

Relatives and friends may call 9 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at Ouellette-Thibault Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hamlin. Interment will be at Maine Veterans Cemetery, Caribou.
