ACTON – Eileen L. Marsh, 60, died peacefully Easter Sunday, April 24, 2011, at her home, after recently being diagnosed with terminal cancer. Eileen was born Nov. 23, 1950, in Sanford, a daughter of Richard and Ernestine (Thibodeau) Lovell.
She attended St. Ignatius School through the eighth grade and was a graduate of Sanford High School, Class of 1969. After graduation, Eileen trained to become a certified nurse’s aide with Maine Medical Center, Portland. With her caring and helpful ways, she found her work both challenging and yet very rewarding. She also worked for a time at Luigi’s Pizza, Springvale, before urban renewal changed the look and feel of the block. Eileen loved grandchildren; her cats, Peanut and Andrew; and the beach. Summer camp outs with Eric’s family were a special time for her. A favorite pastime was watching old movies and driving around searching for the best yard sales. She was also a creative cook and no one ever left her table hungry.
Eileen is survived by her companion of 23 years, Eric Kinney; her stepdaughter, Heather and her children, Zachary and Theresa; her stepson, Michael and his children, Leola and Edwin; and her mother, Ernestine Lovell.
A graveside service will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 29, at Forest Grove Cemetery, off Baker’s Grant Road, East Lebanon, where she will be united in spirit with other family members. After the service, friends and family are invited to the home of David and Sandy White in Shapleigh. Autumn Green Funeral Home, 47 Oak St., Alfred, is respectfully handling arrangements.
