CARIBOU – Ronald “Ron” J. Chapman, 62, passed away April 17, 2011, in Hampden. He was born Oct. 20, 1948, in Caribou, son of Donald and Ida (Brissette) Chapman.
He was a graduate of Caribou High School, served in the U.S. Army and worked for the state of Maine in highway maintenance.
He is survived by his mother of Caribou; three children, Travis Chapman and his wife, Kellie, and their children, Kacie and Evan, of Presque Isle, Jolie Gibbs and her husband, Gary, and their children, Matthew, Abby and Madison, of Clifton and Shawna Gilson and her husband, Al, and their children, Zoey and Dallas, of Bangor; a brother, Russell Chapman of Caribou; a sister, Ruth Nadeau and her husband, Gary, of Caribou; several nieces and nephews. Ron was predeceased by his father; and a brother, Roger Chapman.
Friends may call 11:30-12:30 p.m. Monday, May 2, at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle. A graveside service with military honors will be held 1 p.m. Monday at the Maine Veterans Cemetery, Caribou, with the Rev. Larry Palmer officiating. Online condolences may be expressed at
