FRANKLIN – “My time on Earth has come to an end. So I say good-bye to my family, friends and former students. My life has been more than wonderful due to you all! Born in Philadelphia, growing up in South Jersey with brother, Sandy, then meeting my husband, Dennis, in Iowa while at college, gave me many fond memories. My 40-plus years with Den, in our home on Mill Brook and Hog Bay, Franklin, and our camp at Green Lake, spent with our best friends, Barbara and Lee Beal, were the best! What a joy to live in Maine for all my adult life. To our daughters, Tracy of Medford, Mass., and Denise of Southwest Harbor, you certainly make a mother proud. I have loved you always. My encounter with many students and staff during my teaching career in Gouldsboro and Sumner also gave me many memorable moments. So do not be sad, but look up into the clear sky and if you see a star winking it’s me watching you. So blow me a kiss and smile, look for joy each day with fond memories of me. Twinkle, twinkle little star – it’s me sending love!”
Pam Harmon passed away May 7, 2011. Mom had so many wonderful people in her life and felt so blessed and happy knowing they surrounded her; from her beloved Becky and Clayton Harmon; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; her brother, Sandy and his significant other, Anne; to her treasured friendship with her best friend, Barbara Beal and her family. Her close friendships with co-workers and the women of Franklin kept her laughing and she loved the times shared with them. So the next time you enjoy a piece of dark chocolate, pause, smile and think of my mom.
A service will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, May 15, at their property in Franklin, known as The Point, with a celebration reception afterward at Franklin Veterans Club. Per Mom’s request, no black please, only colors! And wear “walking” shoes and casual dress!
