Belfast man accused of spitting on fellow bar patron

BELFAST, Maine — A local man was arrested and charged with assault last weekend after allegedly spitting on a patron at the Lookout Bar & Grill.

Mark House, 25, apparently spat on the man’s foot early Sunday morning. At some point before that, he had pushed the same man in a case of “mistaken identity,” according to a report from the Belfast Police Department. Additionally, House is reported to have used a derogatory gay slur against the victim, though he was not charged in connection with that.

Arresting police said that they found marijuana and a pipe on House and he also was charged with possession of a usable amount of marijuana and sale and use of drug paraphernalia.
