GREENBUSH – George L. Bubar Sr., passed away May 6, 2011. He was born May 18, 1933, in Caribou. He was predeceased by his parents and his wife of 54 years, Virginia, and their son, Joseph.
George served in the Korean War as a part of the Railroad Battalion. He lived in Greenbush for more than 20 years and drove truck for LaBree’s Bakery until his retirement. He was a wonderful husband, a great father and a loving grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
George is survived by his four children, 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, Marie and her husband, Nasser Rassi, and their children, Reza, Rhyem, Rana and Roya and two great-grandchildren; George Bubar Jr. and his wife, Karen, and their children, Nancy and Kimberly; George’s son, Chris and his wife, Samantha, and great-grandson, Keagan; Dale Jean and her husband, Robert, and their daughter, Trysha; Pamela Quinn and her daughters, Tanya and Deseree and great-granddaughter, Sophia; and his last surviving sibling, Floyd Bubar and his wife, Donna.
A celebration of George’s life will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, May 14, at United Baptist Church, 86 Middle St., Old Town, with the Rev. Bruce Stevens officiating.
