ROCK HILL, S.C. – Mr. Ralph Foster Holmes Sr., 85, of Iva, S.C., formerly of West Buxton, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2011, at Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House, after a brief illness. He was born Jan. 18, 1926, in Bucksport.
Mr. Holmes was predeceased by his wife, Eleanor J. Holmes. He is survived by sons, Ralph and Margaret Holmes of Hollis, James and Diane Holmes of Hubertus, Wis., Don and Marleen Holmes of Rock Hill, S.C., and Andrew and Mary Leigh Holmes of Hollis. Mr. Holmes had eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at a later date in East Corinth. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House, P.O. Box 993, Rock Hill, SC 29730 or to a charity of your choice. Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel is assisting the Holmes family.
