ELLSWORTH – James H. Beer, 67, beloved husband, father, brother and uncle, died suddenly Saturday, May 14, 2011.
Jim served in the Navy in the 1960s. He went on to be an educator first in Florida, then at Sumner High. He was a boat builder for more than 30 years, first at Lee Wilber’s then at Hinckley Yachts. He had a life-long love of the ocean, boats, of building things, gardening and all things organic. He was a kind, warm storyteller with a sparkle in his eye. He will be missed.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Nell; his children, James and Vivian; sister, Winnie; and his niece and nephew, Winnie and Bobby.
Calling hours will be held 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Bragdon-Kelley Funeral Home, Ellsworth. Private service will be held Thursday morning.
