MAPLETON – Stanley Tardie, 79, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 7, 2011, at Mars Hill nursing home, after a brief illness. He was born March 27, 1932, at Eagle Lake, the third of 10 siblings born to Goldie (Burbie) and Claude Tardie.
He was predeceased by his wife, Patricia Nally in 1993; by his mom and dad; by his two brothers, Colen and Calvin Tardie. He is survived by his son, Paul and his wife, Yvonne, and their three sons, Paul III, Patrick II and Christopher Tardie; and his daughter, Catherine Currie-Johnson; his five sisters and their families, Millie (Tardie) and husband, Charles Putnam, of Mapleton, Maxine Dow of Presque Isle, Jerry Speheger of Washburn, Jackie and husband, Bill Campbell, of Presque Isle and Bangor, and Caffie Collins of Presque Isle; two brothers Don and wife, Maddie Tardie of Maine and Florida, and Wayne and wife, Joyce Tardie, of Washburn; and cousins, great-cousins, several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, too many to name,
Janet and husband, Peter Ream, of Pensacola, Fla.; a dearest lifelong friend, Jessica Langston of Panama City, Fla., and his three companions, Brandy, Patches and Precious. The family thanks all the nurses and doctors at TAMC, Presque Isle, as well as Hospice staff for being there and guiding the family, and the staff at Mars Hill Nursing home for the amazing care, help and attention given; and for making his last days peaceful and comfortable. A special thanks to his neighbors who have been watching over him for the last 15 years, and taking care of his pets.
At his request, there were no funeral services. Family and friends gathered at his home and celebrated his memory, his wonderful life, and the impact he left in everyone’s heart. Arrangements are in the care of Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, Presque Isle.
