CRYSTAL – Lorraine Ganley, 73, passed away Sunday, May 14, 2011, in Bangor. She went to be with our Lord and deceased family members, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born July 17, 1937, in Camden N.J., the youngest of two children to George C. and Clair (Roche) Brownridge.

She was retired from National Starch, Island Falls. Lorraine and Jack enjoyed camping at Birch Point Campgrounds every summer since 1987, making close friendships with many campers, whom they regarded as family.

Lorraine was the wife of John J. “Jack” Ganley of Crystal; and the mother of two daughters, Linda of Portland and Kim, who predeceased her, along with her brother, George Brownridge. Among their camping friends were Dr. Joseph Sardina and his wife, Charlotte, who was with Lorraine to the end, the McAvoy’s of Benedicta, the Collins and the Simards, both of Presque Isle, Steve Edwards and family of Island Falls, and many other friends and campers too many to name. To all of the above, the Ganley family thanks you for all your special friendships, support and kindness in the past, especially the staff at Ross Manor, Bangor, for their care and compassion.

At the family’s request, there will be no services, but ask that you remember Lorraine in your thoughts. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1 Bowdoin Mill Island, Suite 300, Topsham, ME 04086. For an online memory book and to leave condolences, please visit
