CORINNA – Patricia C. Cray, 72, died May 19, 2011, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Feb. 7, 1939, in Ghent, N.Y., a daughter of Harry and Muriel (Campbell) Bentz.

Pat was an active member of Corinna United Methodist Church for more than 35 years. She was a “mother and grandmother” to many children in the course of her life. She belonged to the northern chapter of Country Music Hall of Fame, hospice, hospital chaplaincy and many other organizations devoted to helping others.

She is survived by three sons, John and wife, Karyn Cray, of St. Albans, Christopher Cray of Scarborough and David Cray of Portland; a stepson, Myles James Cray of Palmyra; three daughters, Susan and husband, Adam Kasprzak, of Newport, Tricia Cray of Old Town and Kathleen and husband, Shawn Stampley, of Beaverton, Ore.; two sisters, Robin and husband, Michael Scott, of Castleton, N.Y., and Lindy Childrose and companion, Ernie, of Nassau, N.Y.; several stepsisters, nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Myles Cray, in 1998.

A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, May 28, at Corinna United Methodist Church with the Rev. Angela Tarbox officiating. Burial will be at Palmyra Village Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Children’s Miracle Network of Eastern Maine Healthcare Systems, One Cumberland Place, Suite 300, Bangor, ME 04401.
