MILLINOCKET – Willard E. Philbrook Jr., 63, passed away Thursday, May 19, 2011, in Millinocket. Will was born Nov. 2, 1947, in Millinocket, the son of Willard and Majorie (Campbell) Philbrook.

He was an extremely hard working and dedicated paper mill worker at Great Northern Paper Co. for more than 40 years. Will was an adventure seeker in his younger years, frequently partaking in skiing, hunting and skydiving. He was also an avid fisherman, woodworker, and was affectionately known as “Mr. Fix It” to his family.

Willard is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Carole (Mattall) Philbrook; a son, Scott Richards and his wife, Shani, of Monson; two daughters, Kelly Oufiero and her husband, Joseph, of Oxford, and Julie Philbrook of South Paris; five beloved grandsons, who were the apple of his eye, Cody and Dylan Richards, and Noah, Isaiah and Toby Oufiero; six siblings, Arlena Wilmot and her husband, Gene, of Nashua, N.H., Evelyn Deloge and her husband, Bernard, of Medway, Marion Bourassa and her husband, Ernie, of Lowell, Mass., Doris Lowell and her husband, Gene, of South Berwick, John Philbrook and his wife, Claudette, of Millinocket and Kathleen Steward and her husband, Warren, of Millinocket; several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Charlotte Jones.

At the request of the family, funeral services will be private.

Interment will be at Millinocket Cemetery. Gifts in memory of Will may be sent to Katahdin Area Support Group, 10 Field St., Millinocket, ME 04462.
