STONINGTON – Lloyd Brimigion, 84, died May 25, 2011, at a Deer Isle nursing home. He was born May 31, 1926, in Stonington, son of Lloyd Kenneth and Jennie M. (Jones) Brimigion.

Lloyd was a U.S. Navy veteran serving during World War II. He was a friend to all and a special friend. He was known for his sparkling eyes and warm, wonderful smile. He was also known for his love of yachts, antique cars, photography, dancing and golfing.

He is survived by one brother, Joseph Carlton “Carmie” Brimigion of Bristol, Conn.; two special nieces, Holly Bohn and her husband, Richard, of Bones Mill, Va., and Bonnie Lachance and her husband, Daniel, of Bristol, Conn.; three nephews and several cousins. The family thanks Island Nursing Home for the care and consideration for Lloyd.

Friends may call 5-7 p.m. Friday, May 27, at Bragdon-Kelley Funeral Home, 9 Thurlows Hill Road, Stonington, where a funeral service will be celebrated 1 p.m. Saturday, May 28. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Oceanville. Gifts in his memory may be sent to Island Pantry or Historical Society of Stonington.
