BANGOR – Cyril P. Robinson Jr., 78, died peacefully May 30, 2011, surrounded by his loving family. He was born Sept. 11, 1932, in Bangor, youngest son of Cyril P. and Madeline (Partridge) Robinson.

Cyril attended Bangor High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force his senior year. Cyril was a crew chief and he retired as a master sergeant after a 35-year career with the Maine Air National Guard. Cyril married his high school sweetheart, Betty Lou Wilson and they lived in Bangor. They celebrated 59 years of marriage on May 10. Cyril was a life member of Bangor Elks Lodge and Maine Air National Guard Club. An avid bowler, his dream was to open a state of the art bowling center, and in 1987 his dream came true and Heritage Bowling Center came to life. Cyril will be stopping at the Rainbow Bridge on his journey to gather his beloved Shelties.

In addition to his wife, Cyril is survived by his son, Terrence W. Robinson Sr. of Bangor; daughters, Pamela J. Robinson of Bangor, Cheryl A. Robinson of Orrington and Kandi S. Robinson of Bangor; six grandchildren, Terrence W. Robinson II, Shellie L. Robinson, Karen Harvey, Sara Harvey, David Potter and Jessica Hamm; and four great-grandchildren, Caitlyn Hardy, Kaylee Harvey, Triston Hamm and Olivia Robinson. In addition to his parents, Cyril was predeceased by two brothers, Irving and Edward.

Friends are welcome to call 6-8 p.m. Friday, June 3, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where a funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, June 4, with the Rev. Dr. Rex H. Garrett, director of chaplaincy services at Eastern Maine Medical Center, officiating. Interment will be after at Pine Grove Cemetery, Bangor.
