VAN BUREN – Wilfred Martin, 76, died June 1, 2011, at a Caribou hospital. He was born Oct. 26, 1934, in St. Leonard, New Brunswick, son of William and Flavie (Corbin) Martin.
He was employed as a flooring and ceiling installer for many years.
He is survived by one son, James Martin and his wife, Danielle, of Van Buren; two sisters, Antoinette Desjardins and her husband, Rino, and Isabelle Godbout, all of Grand Falls, New Brunswick; and two grandsons, Andrew and Alexander Martin. He will also be missed by his longtime companion, Rachel Akerley of St. Leonard, New Brunswick.
Relatives and friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. until time of service Saturday at Ouellette-Thibault Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church. Committal service and interment will be at the parish cemetery.
