VAN BUREN – Estelle J. Bouchard, 60, died peacefully June 2, 2011, at home after her battle with cancer. She was born May 9, 1951, in Van Buren, daughter of Reno P. and Gladys L. (Lavoie) Bouchard.

Estelle was a member of St. Peter Chanel Parish. She graduated from Van Buren District High School in 1969 and Twin City Beauty School, Brewer, in 1970. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 49. Estelle operated her own business as a beautician for many years and worked as an insurance agent for A.C. Madore/Ezzy Insurance for a number of years. She also worked as an accounting technician at DFAS, Limestone, prior to her retirement.

In addition to her mother, Gladys of Van Buren, she is survived by her husband of more than 39 years, Robert M. Bouchard of Van Buren; five sisters, Rena Bouchard and Rose Bouchard, both of Van Buren, Therese Sawyer and her husband, Steve, of Springfield, Irene Lee and her husband, Kenneth, of Vassalboro, and Mona Boulrisse and her husband, Richard, of Bourne, Mass.; and four brothers, Kenneth Bouchard and his wife, Juanita, of Jay, Norman Bouchard and his wife, Tina, of Hebron, Conn., Eugene Bouchard and his wife, Mary Ann, of Glastonbury, Conn., and Mark Bouchard of South Paris. She is also survived by many very special nieces and nephews, several cherished great-nieces and great-nephews. She was predeceased by her father, Reno P. Bouchard.

Relatives and friends may call 6-8 p.m. Sunday and 9-10:30 a.m. Monday at Ouellette-Thibault Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church, Van Buren. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
