WINTERPORT – Elva J. (Constant) Rancourt, 79, died June 2, 2011, at an Orono health care facility. Elva was born July 9, 1931, in Springfield, daughter of Ellen (Worster) and Eddie Ray Worster.
Elva graduated from Lee Academy in 1951. She worked for several years at Stevens Studios and was a certified nurse’s aide in the Alzheimer’s unit at Westgate Manor. She previously was a member of Women’s Action Group at St. Gabriel’s Church and a member of Senior Citizens Group of Winterport. She loved to paint, tend gardens and decorate her home.
Elva is survived by her husband, Reginald Rancourt of Winterport; three daughters, Karen Barron and fiance, Rick Wilson, of Alton, Laurel Wells and husband, Buzz, of Beddington, and Robin Bishop and husband, Lloyd, of Exeter; her son, Paul Constant of Orono; 10 grandchildren, Brian, Tracy, Christopher, Justin, Jenna, Alicia, Christa, Trisha, Trina and Samantha; eight great-grandchildren; her daughter-in-law, Barbara Constant of Bangor; a brother-in-law, Bob Lyford of Glenburn; several nieces, nephews and friends, including Ruth, Nancy, Patty, and Faye. Elva was predeceased by her son, Scott Constant.
