ADAMS, Mass. – Mrs. Elizabeth (Vienneau) Porter, 81, of 331/2 Alger St., died Tuesday morning, May 31, 2011, at North Adams Regional Hospital. She was born Oct. 20, 1929, in Bathurst, New Brunswick, a daughter of the late Joseph and Rosanna (Bertin) Vienneau.
She attended schools in Canada, and came to this country in 1953.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Raymond A. Porter, whom she married April 11, 1953; a son, David Porter of Green Cove Springs, Fla.; two daughters, Gail (Porter) Assante of Adams, Mass., and Jennifer (Porter) Cottrell of Hoosick Falls, N.Y.; a brother, Richard Vienneau and his wife, Jennie, of Bathurst, New Brunswick; a sister, Mary Julia Birmingham of Adams, Mass.; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. A daughter, Constance Rae Porter, died Aug. 25, 1967.
Funeral services will be held noon Wednesday, June 8, at First United Methodist Church of Cheshire, with Warren Scamman, pastor, officiating. Burial will be after at Bellevue Cemetery, Adams, Mass. Calling hours are 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 7, at Paciorek Funeral Home, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, Mass.
