EASTBROOK – Sheila (Kingman) Sylvia, 93, passed away June 2, 2011, at her residence after a short illness.
She was born May 17, 1918, in Eastbrook, to Harold and Edna (Lawrie) Kingman.
Sheila graduated from Bar Harbor High School in 1936 and from beautician school in Brewer. She worked in the local grocery store, hardware and furniture stores, as well as in commercial laundry.
Sheila was married to Deane Touell Sylvia, who predeceased her in 1960. She was also predeceased by her parents; and one sister, Pauline (Kingman) Jones and her husband, Ralph E. Jones. Sheila is survived by her son, D. Paul Sylvia and his partner, Chryle Seavey, of Eastbrook; a grandson, Tim Sylvia and his partner, Lindsey Leslie, of LeClaire, Iowa; and one great-grandson, Mavrik, also of Iowa. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law and their families, Rhonda and Larry Mciver of Baileyville, and Kirk and Vonalee Sides of Sherman.
In lieu of flowers, friends and family may make donations to Community Health and Counseling Services, 415 Water St., Ellsworth, ME 04605. Funeral services will be announced at a later date. Arrangements under the care of Direct Cremation of Maine, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast.
