BANGOR – Linda C. Briggs, 71, died May 30, 2011, in Bangor. She was born May 14, 1940, in Bangor, daughter of Allen and Beatrice (Morrill) Newcomb.
Linda was a graduate of Bangor High School and lived for many years in Presque Isle.
She was married to Peter Briggs for many years and later was a longtime companion of David Rapaport. She owned and operated two retail businesses, and later used her artistic talents to make and sell jewelry. Linda loved nature and especially animals, and enjoyed creating a haven for squirrels and birds.
She is survived by her two children, Jeffrey Briggs of Concord, Mass., and Cheri Briggs of Eugene, Ore.; and her two grandchildren, Taylor and Ashley.
A service of remembrance will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, June 12, at All Souls Congregational Church, Bangor, with the Rev. Dr. James L. Haddix, pastor and teacher, officiating.
