HULLS COVE – Marion E. Roberts, 86, died June 4, 2011, at a Bar Harbor health care facility. She was born April 23, 1925, in Waltham, daughter of Clyde T. and Gladys M. (Braley) Porter.
Marion was a loving and caring mother and grandmother. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing and being a homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Bar Harbor and Ladies Auxiliary of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post No. 109, Ellsworth.
Marion is survived by her son, Roy Austin Roberts Sr. and his wife, Romona, of La Junta, Colo.; her daughter, Judith and her husband, John Driscoll, of Hulls Cove; one brother, William Porter and wife, Barbara, of Milford, Mass.; two sisters, Mazie Schencks and husband, Edward, of Jonesboro, and Lillian Norwood of Town Hill; five grandchildren, Roy Jr., Edward and Bobby-Joe Roberts, Amber and husband, Matthew Norcia, and Johna Driscoll; 10 great-grandchildren; and special family friend, Randy Lilly. She was predeceased by her husband, Austin, in 2001; and her brothers, Raymond and Lawrence Porter.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday, June 10, at First Baptist Church, Bar Harbor. Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery, Hulls Cove.
