CLEARWATER, Fla. – Mary E. “Stella” Giroux, 94, died Saturday, June 4, 2011, at her residence. She was born in Jackman.
Mary was educated in schools in Quebec and Ontario, and graduated from Brownville Junction High School and Maine General Hospital School of Nursing. Mary retired from the Veterans Affairs Medical Center at Togus. She was a U.S. Army veteran. Mary was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and Woman’s Club.
She was predeceased by her husband, Clement Giroux; father, Deforrest William Carmichael; mother, Mary Bryant (Little); stepfather, Temple Bryant; sister, Eileen Carmichael Malouf; and brothers, Cecil and Herbert Bryant. Mary is survived by brothers, John Bryant and his wife, Joyce, of Dunedin, Fla., and Forrest E. Carmichael of Palm Harbor, Fla.; stepson, Leon J. Giroux of Augusta; several nieces and nephews.
