SACO – Eleanor Mae Littlejohn, 82, of Pheasant Road, passed away June 3, 2011, surrounded by her family, at her residence. She was born August 13, 1928, in Machiasport, the daughter of Fred and Florence Wood.
Eleanor attended Machias schools and also Washington Academy. She was at one time employed at B&M Baked Beans. She and her husband were residents of Portland for many years and moved to Saco in the early 1970s. Eleanor enjoyed cooking, watching the news and weather, country-Western music, and especially spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband, John Littlejohn of Saco; a son, James Littlejohn, and his wife, Alice, of Westbrook; a daughter, Karen Allen and her husband, John, of Old Orchard Beach; a sister, Leona “Nonie” Pettegrow and her husband, Richard, of Machiasport; 10 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Dennis M. Littlejohn; a daughter, Janice M. Hutchins; and a brother, Arnold Wood.
A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Forest City Cemetery, South Portland. Dennett, Craig & Pate, 365 Main St., Saco is in charge of the arrangements.
