MILLINOCKET – Isabelle Florence Hartt Osborne, 95, passed away June 7, 2011. Isabelle was born Feb. 23, 1916, in Millville, New Brunswick, daughter of Samuel Hartt and Vona (Zinnett) Hartt Munson.

Isabelle was married to George Osborne, and had two children, a daughter and a son. They were members of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church. Isabelle worked for Walsh’s Jewelry Store for nine years, until she started a ceramic studio in her home. She taught classes there, and in the Millinocket night school program for 10 years and Lincoln night school for two years. She also worked for a while at Millinocket Memorial Library. She graduated from Stearns High School, Class of 1933. Many years later and after the death of her husband, she went back to school and graduated from Northern Maine Vocational Technical Institute in the license practical nurse program. After her graduation from the nursing program, she worked at Millinocket Regional Hospital and Manatee Memorial Hospital, Bradenton, Fla. She did private duty in New Haven, Conn., and Orange, Conn., for eight years. After retiring from nursing, she took care of her ill mother and stepfather for seven years. Isabelle enjoyed several hobbies such as reading, painting and needlework of several types, knitting, crocheting, rug hooking, and braiding.

Isabelle is survived by a daughter, Gwendolyn and her husband, Robert Conway, of Nashua, N.H.; a son, Charles Osborne and his wife, Elodie, of Millinocket; eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren, all of whom were loved and treasured and were the joy of Isabelle’s life; a sister, Etta Tilley of Westwood, Mass.; a brother, Delmont Hartt and his wife, Sheila, of Carmel; a sister-in-law, Cecile Hartt of Millinocket; several nieces and nephews, all of whom Isabelle was very fond. She was predeceased by parents, stepfather; her dear husband, George Osborne, in 1968; and brother, Wendell Hartt, in 1995.

At her request there will be no visiting hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 10, at Christ the Divine Mercy Parish, St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, 19 Colby St., Millinocket, with the Rev.
