GREENBUSH – Lovina Elizabeth (Adams) Kennedy, 92, went to be with her Lord June 9, 2011. She was born Dec. 3, 1918, in Greenbush, daughter of Clarence and Mary (Albert) Adams. Lovina’s father and mother both died in February 1920. Her grandmother, Lovina (Smith) Adams, raised her and her older half brother, Nolan.

Lovina was a faithful lifelong member of Cardville United Pentecostal Church. In earlier years, she and her husband enjoyed cooking for many years for UPC Maine District camp meetings and youth camps in Pea Cove, Old Town. She was the recipient of the Gold Post Cane in 2006 from the town of Greenbush as the town’s oldest citizen.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Harold and Prudence Kennedy of Old Town, Edmund and Dorothy Kennedy, Glen and Peggy Kennedy, Tony and Janice (Kennedy) Madore, all of Greenbush; 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Harrison; a daughter, Loretta (Kennedy) Rumney; a grandson, Eric Kennedy; and a half brother, Nolan Adams. Friends may call 5-7 p.m. Sunday at Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town. A funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday at Cardville United Pentecostal Church, 148 Cards Ride Road, Greenbush. Burial will be after at Cardville Cemetery. Immediately after the services at the cemetery, all are invited back to the church for a luncheon and continued fellowship. Notes of condolence may be left at
