DANFORTH – Paul Linwood Gray, 74, died June 8, 2011, at his home. He was born April 22, 1937, in Eaton, son of Maurice and Pearl (Kinney) Gray.

Paul loved hunting, fishing and trapping. He was treasurer and Sunday school teacher for many years at Danforth Pentecostal Church. Paul was instrumental in raising funds to build two different churches. He owned and operated the hardware store in Danforth for 15 years.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Beverly (Stevens) Gray of Danforth; his children, Sharon Brackett and her husband, Hal, of Weston, Steven Gray and his wife, Kim, of Danforth, Jodi Furge and her husband, David, of Mattawamkeag, and Brent Gray and his wife, Sandra, of Lincoln; three brothers, James and Sidney Gray, both of Danforth, and Ben Gray of Florida; two sisters, Mavis Turner and Diane Davis, both of Medway; grandchildren, Amanda and Ron Dunham of Corinth, Tracey and Jake Treadwell of South Paris, Steven Gray of Winterport, Jaron Gray of Danforth, Davis Furge of Mattawamkeag, Kyle Crowder of Arkansas, Siera Gray of Ellsworth, Dawson Furge of Mattawamkeag, Camille, Rossley, Cecily and Bethany Gray, all of Ellsworth; two stepgrandchildren, Brianna and Brett Jacobs, both of Lincoln; and one “adopted” grandchild, Hailey Crowder of Arkansas. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Rachel Couturier.

Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at Clay Funeral Home-Bartlett Chapel, 24 Houlton Road, Danforth, where funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Frank Godley officiating.
