CRYSTAL – Thomas O. York Sr., 86, died June 8, 2011, in Houlton. He was born Dec. 23, 1924, in Hersey, son of Edward Sr. and Cecelia (Cassidy) York.
Thomas was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during World War II, and was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Bunny (Prescott) York of Crystal; four children, Thomas Jr. and Suzanne York of Crystal, Mary Corey of Houlton, John and Cindy York of Houlton, and Lynne and Dana Ryan of Ludlow; 11 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents; a son, David; and grandson, Butch.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, June 11, at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Island Falls. Interment will be at St. Agnes Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may donate to the charity of one’s choice. For an online memory book and to leave condolences, please visit
